Wednesday a handful of the Tomahawks were at the mall spending their time as being bell ringers for the Salvation Army. They used this to not only promote the team, but to raise money for a great cause.
The Salvation Army is a foundation that works to get the addicted back on their feet, as well as the hungry and impoverished into a place where they can have food without needing the money. The have 7,546 centers all over the world and they assist with food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, and several programs for children.
They receive their money through donations. So the Tomahawks will be back at the mall for a few more days this month, but the Salvation Army kettles will be out all winter long. If you have some spare change, it will make a huge difference in the life of someone else if you put it into the Salvation Army kettles.
The only known date that they will be back is November 19th, but there are a few other days too. Go to the mall and find a Salvation Army bucket, you might just find a Tomahawk or two along with it.
Thank you to all of the Tomahawks who were there and will be there on other days this month. It's a great service to the community, as well as to people around the world!
